Workshop Teachers: Edward Paddock

After a childhood of dance, Edward (he/them) discovered Lindy Hop in college at UC Davis and fell in love with the dance and the community. After moving to Oakland in 2018, they branched out into Solo Jazz and Collegiate Shag, as well as continuing their training in Rhythm Tap. They are passionate about rhythm, technique, and making dance a fun and welcoming experience for dancers of all levels! Edward's recent dance achievements include choreographing the winning Solo Jazz team for Camp Hollywood 2022 and buying too many new pairs of tap shoes.

Alex Phelps (they/them) began their dance journey with Irish Dance, which they did for nine years as a child and teen, competing at the national and international level. Fast forward to 2017 when they started learning Lindy Hop at Cat’s Corner, realizing that dance can actually be a playful and joyous joining of souls. Today, Alex also dances Solo Jazz and Collegiate Shag, competing at Camp Hollywood and (soon) beyond. Alex describes their dance style as animated and musical.
