Beginner : Moving Together

The focus of this class is something fundamental to social dancing: Connection! After all, coordinating movement with another person is what makes Lindy Hop a partner dance. Starting with some basics and building up in complexity each week, you'll learn different moves to get you and your partner on the same page and jammin' together on the dance floor! No partner and no experience necessary.

Intermediate Elective: The Big Apple

The Big Apple is a classic jazz dance, best known for its performance by Whitey's Lindy Hoppers in the film Keep Punching (1939). We'll tackle this challenging choreography all month long, and we'll perform it at the dance on Live Band Night. This class will move at an aggressive pace, and some familiarity with solo jazz dancing is expected. Get ready to sweat!

Practice sESSION

Intermediate/Advanced Practice Session is held on the last Thursday of each month at 7-8pm, right before the dance.

These practices are meant for dancers who are very comfortable with Intermediate content, have danced and taken classes regularly for at least a year, and are willing to be more collaborative and self-directed than a typical class setting. Ideas will be given for inspiration, but you are encouraged to bring your own ideas to work on. Coming with a dance partner is not required but is allowed and recommended. Expect to workshop moves and ideas with other dancers, give and receive constructive feedback, and build connections in the Lindy Hop community!
